PT Perkebunan Nusantara XI (Persero) or PTPN XI is a state-owned enterprises (BUMN) engaged in agribusiness plantations with the core business of sugar. PTPN XI established since 1966 is the only state-owned enterprises that seek a single commodity -sugar- with contributions 16-18% of national production. The main business activities of PTPN XI is the production of sugar. Other lines of business are production / manufacture of alcohol and rubbing alcohol from molasses and production of fiber kenaff burlap sacks and plastic bags. PTPN XI also provides medical care services from the General Hospital. PTPN XI based on Jl Merak No.1, Surabaya, operates 16 sugar mills, four hospitals, 1 burlap sacs & plastic bag factory and a refining plant & Spiritus Alcohol (Ethanol Distillery).
